Open answers were assessed by two authors and recoded into the sixteen main categories of the e-liquid flavour wheel. This resulted in a total of 245 flavour descriptions.
Never-users were most interested in trying e-liquid flavors from the menthol/mint and fruit categories. Smokers were more inclined to try e-liquids from the fruit, tobacco and dessert categories. Drink flavored e-liquids were also well-received. These include variations on classic beverages such as cola, coffee, tea, milkshakes and root beer floats. The variety of flavours available through RelevantVapes may help support smokers in their decision to switch to vaping. The availability of different flavors also increases the likelihood that a user will continue to use an e-cigarette.
